Highlights

Light and Sound Interactive is a unique conference and expo focused on light and sound-based technologies and their applications in emerging fields such as virtual and augmented reality, games, cinema, and music. The conference is interactive, featuring talks by leading experts, panel sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations. 

Hear about the exciting new Luminate accelerator program – the $10M NY State funded initiative for optics, photonics, and imaging enabled startups.  Applications are being accepted now (window closes September 15th), for the cohort that will start in January.  Information on Luminate will be provided in the Money Matters track.

The conference is organized around eight different areas, focusing the

workshops, panel sessions and other events around these tracks.

Keynote Address by Two-Time Oscar-Winning Director Ang Lee, along with Oscar-nominated Film Editor Tim Squyres, and Techncal Supervisor Ben Gervais

Director Ang Lee and his technical team will be presenting scenes from his groundbreaking 3D 120fps feature Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, and discussing the reasons for shooting in this format, and the challenges that came with it.

Special Screening of Dunkirk

A special screening of Christopher Nolan’s feature film Dunkirk shot on 70mm Kodak film will be displayed at Kodak Center in Eastman Kodak Business Park. This screening will be accompanied by the Democrat and Chronicle’s own film critic Jack Garner.

eSports Exhibition Rounds

Big Bright Monster

Dimensional control of light and sound to build immersive experiences. “Monster under the Viaduct” employs a unique 3D projection technology that allows for dimensional projection onto physical objects that are then affected in real time by viewer interactions.
